After the events of 9/11 our son made a decision to serve his country. This was realized when he joined the Marines (USMC) after graduating from high school. Josh served honorably with two deployments: Marine Expeditionary Unit to the Middle East and finally to Helmand province, Afghanistan as part of a Quick Response team. He left the USMC a sergeant. After his service, he chose to continue his education, making Colorado State University his first choice. This scholarship is our way of saying thank you to those who served.

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to veterans at Colorado State University.

The recipient(s) of the scholarship shall:

1. Demonstrate financial need by Colorado State University’s Office of Financial Aid;
2. have served and been honorably discharged from the United States Armed Services; and
3. preference shall be given to United States Marine Corps combat veterans.
